Description

Kicking off our second event of the 2024 Role Model Series, join Sarah Busch, VP of Operations for Landis Construction, as we walk through the Tchoupitoulas Central Business District Corridor. We will be visiting some of Sarah's most note-worthy projects and hearing some lessons learned from her tenured career in the industry. We'll also explore some of Sarah's personal takeaways as a trail-blazer in a field traditionally dominated by men. Following the tour, join us in the Wednesday at the Square VIP area for some cocktails, networking, and Lost Bayou Ramblers! .

We'll be meeting at the Windsor Court Hotel Lobby as the first stop!

Please note: if you would like to attend the event, but are scheduled to volunteer at this Wednesday at the Square, please email leadership@ylcnola.org

Sarah Busch has worked in the construction industry for 25 years, all with Landis Construction Company. In her current role as Vice President of Operations, a title that she has held for nine years, Sarah focuses on project launches and is integral to the planning of each project, ushering it from Preconstruction and into the Construction Phase to ensure continuity of service. Having risen through the Project Management ranks over her years with Landis, Sarah calls upon her extensive practical and historical knowledge of the construction industry and its processes, as well as her strong relationships with the subcontractor, regulatory, and design firm sectors, to set each project up for success long before any work begins.

Mrs. Busch is a native New Orleanian with strong ties and commitment to her community. She is a proud graduate of Academy of the Sacred Heart High School, and Hollins University in Roanoke, VA where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Sarah feels that her background in the liberal arts has been more of an advantage than disadvantage in the construction industry, preparing her with analytical thinking, persuasive communication, and problem-solving skills that she now uses on a daily basis. Sarah thoroughly enjoys mentoring young women in the industry, and giving back to organizations that focus on the investment, education, and uplifting of youth in New Orleans. She has been on the Boards of the New Orleans Architecture Foundation and My House, Inc., and is the current Board Chair for unCommon Construction, and is active in many other industry-related and youth-empowerment-related organizations.

When she is not planning projects, Sarah loves to travel, spend countless hours on her Muses shoes, and take advantage of the outstanding culinary scene in New Orleans. She and her husband, John, are proud parents to Jackson (19), Wyatt (16) and guinea pigs Peekaboo and Coconut.
