Description

The Louisiana SPCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promote, protect and advance the well-being of Louisiana’s companion animals. As the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, we impact more than 73,000 homeless and companion animals each year. For more than 130 years we have been committed to service the needs of the people and animals in the Greater New Orleans community and across the region as a 4-star Charity Navigator rated nonprofit ranking in the top 1% nationally.

We will learn background on the shelter, complete service projects, and socialize/exercise the animals. Examples of service projects include weeding dog play yards, deep cleaning hallways, organizing our food pantry, and creating animal enrichment items. We will spend a good portion of time walking the dogs! The service project will be dependent on the shelter’s needs at the time.

Please wear close-toed shoes and clothes you can be active in and don’t mind getting dirty. Long pants are recommended to reduce the chance of scratches. Besides that, all you need to bring is a water bottle!

Registration will be open a month before.
