More about YLC Toastmasters Club:

Any member is welcome to join, regardless of prior speaking experience. Toastmasters is a safe space where you can get feedback on your speaking posture, learn how to effectively provide someone else feedback, and gain experience speaking on the spot to an unrehearsed question.

In each session, participants aim to complete two speeches and give one peer evaluation. After completion of a session, you will move on to a higher level in the next session with progressing speech criteria. All materials are provided to you each week. You must be a YLC member to participate in YLC Toastmasters.

More about Toastmasters International:

There is no instructor in Toastmasters. Instead, attendees are assigned a quick presentation and we evaluate one another’s delivery. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Be ready to give impromptu talks on assigned topics, prepare a speech in advance conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar, critical thinking and evaluation skills, all very transferable to the professional world.

Members learn these communication skills by working through the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a foundation in public speaking. Everyone does this at their own pace.
